    Hi Mitch, how are you?
I recently read a feature on Swedish Prog metal group Opeth in which they were given 50 GBP to use at a record store (Classic Rock magazine issue 228).
The guitar player, Fredrik Åkesson, said that he is always on the look out for a Mahogany Rush record.
Opeth is going to be in town this Tuesday at Metropolis and I thought it would be cool to inform Frank Marino about this; who knows, maybe he has a few of those records lying around!
    What do you think?
As always, keep up the great work. You are a true Montreal treasure.
    Sincerely,
    Marco

Thanks Marco – I have forwarded info to Frank.

They’ll be hanging out with Frank while they are here – as they did the last time.

Hi Mitch, I listen to your show most afternoons and know what a great fan you are of The Band. We have not officially announced this just yet but we will be bringing Robbie Robertson into Montreal for a talk and signing on Friday Nov 18 for his new book Testimony. The event will be taking place at LCC auditorium in NDG. Once the book gets published I’ll send you a copy and a few tickets if you are interested to come out and meet him.

Thanks Peter. Robbie is booked to be on my show on Nov 18th at 3:35. Too bad it’s the wrong Friday 🙂

Hi Mitch, love your show when I listen to it. 40 th anniversary of the Last Waltz show, it says recreating that night, are they performing all the show (set list) or there music in the same atmosphere. I know stupid question, I saw that show on PBS when I was 18 back in 1986 I still to this day I tell people if you have not seen it then you really don’t know music…..;o)=

    Cheers

Thanks Tommy. The concert is in the spirit of The Last Waltz. A lot of the songs will be performed but it won’t be an exact replica. Several songs from that era by The Band & their guests that were not part of The Last Waltz will also be performed. The night will feature the sights & sounds of 1976. And there will be surprises.
