The Melnick ‘n Murphy Podcast Episode 28 – Frank Marino

Frank Marino is one of the greatest guitar players of all time.

But in recent years he was unable to play. That’s not to say he wasn’t busy. He spent nearly a decade of post production work on his stunning new BluRay/DVD Live at the Agora Theatre.

The Cleveland concert took place 10 years ago. But when he played it back he discovered, much to his horror, a major gaffe that would require a clean up of gigantic proportion. It took a minor miracle to get it done. You might call it part of Frank’s “gift”.

Frank tells the whole story plus some unexpected tales of the early days of Mahogany Rush when a 16 year old Frank was given full production control. And there’s talk of the Holy Trinity of 60s rock – The Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan, especially what (and who) made The Beatles so magical.

We’re proud to present Frank and some choice cuts from the concert. We’re especially thrilled that he’s back.

Thanks, as always, to Simon Petraki at Seratone Studio and our sponsors: Monkland Taverne, Brutopia Brew Pub, Mirela’s and Lorne Rubin at Paramount Financial Services.
